Inauguration

The Detroit Free Press did a nice job on their coverage of yesterday's inauguration. A few highlights:

Romain Blanquart's inaugural crowd portraits.
And Diane Weiss's excellent panorama from within the crowd.

Romain Blanquart - One

My pal Romain Blanquart, who I've written about before is a finalist in the photography book awards at the fancy New York Photo Festival. As you might guess, he is in some pretty fine company in that category - Amy Stein, Danny Wilcox Frazier, Jessica Dimmock......

A preview of his book "One" can be seen here on his website.

"One in one billion three hundred million, men and women living in the most populous country in the world, numbers disappear to let the individuals find their path and solitude. Isolation and introspection in the modern urban environment. People's Republic of China, 2007."

He will be taking orders for the book soon, so all you smarties make sure to check back.
